Shoals Area Gardens
There are a plethora of beautiful gardens in the Shoals area as those
who have toured them over the last several years are well aware. We invite you now to take a
brief tour of some of our member's gardens.
This Shoals Men's Garden Club member has a greenhouse, as well as love of and a green thumb for orchids. He has quite a wide variety of orchids
as can be seen from these photos of these beautiful specimens. Take a few moments now and enjoy the beauty and color of these gorgeous

This Florence Garden was on our 2002 garden tour and has been developed using low maintenance garden techniques at their Hickory Hills home. The front
lawn of Myers Zoysia with dogwood, Japanese Cherry, large boxwood, Japanese Holly, and azaleas

This Shoal Creek Garden was featured in both our 1998 and our 2003 garden tours. It cascades down the hillside of this Shoal Creek home. complete with a wide variety of shade loving plants including a wide variety of
azaleas, cammellias, and ferns. Primarily a shade garden it provides a living guide to "How to shade garden".

This Muscle Shoals Garden, also featured in both our 1998 and 2003 garden tours, is a true wonder in the spring with thousands of azaleas and rhododendrons in bloom. The home, situated
on the lake in Muscle Shoals is resplendit with color. Essentially all the azaleas were propogated by the owner and his love of nature is evidenced throughout his widespread gardens.

This Florence garden and spectacular waterfall are located on Riveside a stones throw from ECM Hospital. Until 2007 this
was simply a ravine where water rushed down to the river following heavy rains. But pause now and stroll down a path hewn from
the hillside to gaze across at a roaring waterfall and enjoy the lazy day as you lounge among the beautiful oak leaf hydrangeas.
