While an old man, I am but a young gardener.

Take a look at our recent club newsletter, the "Grapevine", look at the gardening "Tips" section and, if you are interested in joining us, look at our scheduled meetings under "Events", and join us for our next meeting. After you have visited our website, please take a moment to sign our guest book, and let us know what you think. If you would like to receive our newletter even though you cannot attend our meetings, just send us your email address and we'll add you on for our distribution. We are ever interested in improving our offering and your input is appreciated.

From Our President

The Shoals Area is undergoing a cultural renaissance with its influx of new businesses, movement to a convention center - retirement destination, and its expansion of public parks and recreational facilities.

The Men's Garden Club is our means of giving back and improving our Community through involvement in public garden and landscape projects and in helping people of the community understand and appreciate the area horticultural. This expansion of parks and recreational facilities provide us with unique opportunities to work with city government and other community garden organizations on meaningful, high visibility, projects in these areas. Our involvement allows us to influence how this expansion adds to the beauty and community awareness of the area horticultural.

I personally value Club Membership because of the friendships and camaraderie of working with the very interesting and knowledgeable Club members that delight in sharing their knowledge of gardening.

Throughout the year we have speakers (often from within the Club) talk on their area of expertise, experiences, or issues covering the gambit of horticulture topics.

The Club has a least one daytrip each year, which have turned out to be true gems. We have visited botanical gardens, specialty nurseries, area parks with unique botanical plantings, private gardens of plant collectors, etc.

We celebrate each summer with a July Ice Cream Social and an August Watermelon Cutting. At the end of the year we celebrate the season at our December Banquet.

If you are someone who enjoys Gardening, shares our commitment to community, and enjoys the company of fellow gardeners, please consider joining the Men's Garden Club.
