Plantsman Award

The Plantsman Award is a high honor accorded members of the Men's Garden Club of the Shoals who have excelled in their contributions to gardening nationally, locally, and in service to our club. William Bartram Memorial Award

William Bartram served to alert biologists and nature lovers about the unique flora and fauna during his four-year journey through the South more than 200 years ago. He used vivid descriptions and artistic sketches to document his travels. He was one of the first naturalists to exhibit exceptional devotion to sharing knowledge with others. This award is presented to those displaying exceptinal lifetime achievement in Earth Studies as exemplified by William Bartram.See left side menu for recipients.
